I’ve just finished reading one of the most profound books I have read in a long time. If you haven’t already read it then I suggest you get yourself a copy because this is personal development as whole – in a nutshell. It’s called the “Power Of Awareness” and it was recommended to me by a lovely lady I met at a Life Coaching event recently.
The author Neville talks about the different Universal laws that govern our vibrational energy and create the way in which we live by assuming that is already ours.
The Law Of Assumption is one of the most important laws you can apply to your own life today to see big changes. Without knowing it before reading, I had already used this law myself when my son was sick a few years back and so whilst reading it, I became incredibly emotional that I had already connected to that law previously and had wonderful success.
Here’s my story…….
When my son Brandon was diagnosed with a front lobal brain tumour, I developed a strong feeling within me that I could make it disappear for good. It may sound far-fetched, but I refused to believe that my son would have to live in this way and be confined to a hospital bed for his childhood years, so I ‘decided’ that I would ‘accept’ or lets say ‘assume’ in this instance that he was not really sick.
I am not deluded or crazy and this is not to offend anyone who has a sick child who has to go through the emotional turmoil as a family. In fact, I firmly believe that it can be changed, or at the very least improved; to give the child, or anyone for that matter a better life experience.
We were told he needed an immediate operation to remove the tumour otherwise it could be severly life threatening.
Each day leading up to the operation I would sit outside the hospital on the same bench where an angel chime blew in the wind above my head. I devloped a solid belief that he would be ok and that the operation would be 100% success. Any time a negative or worrying thought entered my head (which is totally natural for any parent in this situation) I removed it immediately and replaced it with a happy thought for the future.
I visualised us playing on the beach in the summer and could feel the sun on my cheeks and the way the sand felt under my feet. I clearly saw Brandon well again with a glisten in his eye and a big smile across his face.
I visualised this and other similar scenarios every day, on this bench and at night in the hospital when I lay in the bed beside him. I could see us all there, so clearly in my mind. I even told Brandon under no circumstance was he to accept this tumour and be scared or fearful. I suggested to believe firmly that he would beat this and ‘see’ himself out of the hospital in no time. He agreed wholeheartedly and assured me he would do that.
Brandon’s bravery astounded me. Not once did he cry or show any fear. He just wanted the tumour out of him so he could continue with football, his passion. His tumour was so large it was almost a quarter of his brain but yet he still continued to smile.
Two weeks later after a successful operation we were told they had removed it all, 100% of it. The surgeon told us there was 1% chance of it ever returning. No chemo or radiotherapy was needed and a further week later he was discharged from hosptial having made a full recovery.
A further six weeks on he was back playing football (to the surprise of everyone we knew) and that summer we went on holiday and played on the beach and he had the very smile on his face that I had seen in my imagination.
To this day his MRI scans are 100% clear and he lives a very healthy active, happy lifestyle for a 12 year old boy.
The book talks about assuming exactly what you want as if it is already yours, just as I did. Once your belief is solid and strong the universe works with you as if it is already a truth.
Here is what you can do to assume whatever you desire in your life:
Each night (and I mean EVERY night!) think of something or a situation that you want to have or to change.
Believe that it is already yours and when I say believe; I mean really believe that this is already in your life.
Think of the situation or thing CLEARLY. Feel the energy, use all of your senses to put yourself in the situation. Assume the feeling and see the picture in your mind.
Repeat the same process every night before sleeping. Ensure that the picture is exactly the same and that you are thinking about the same thing/situation for at least 2 weeks. Don’t let your mind wander. Concentrate on 1 thing at a time.
If you can, try to think about it during the day too, when you have a moment to day dream.
By doing this religiously every day and believing that it is already true for you, you will see the results for yourself.
Try it, the worst that can happen is that you develop focus, which is never a bad thing! but I know that if you truely believe what you want and tell yourself it’s already there, it will happen for you. If nothing changes after two weeks, try it for longer. Don’t give up! Just keep going and be determined to see it manifest before your eyes.
When you have assumed what you want, or one of the many things (because this is just the beginning for you). Come back and tell me on my blog. I’d love to hear your story.
Believe in yourself and your power.
Lots of Love
