It’s easy to take a quick look at my blog and assume that I am a ‘guru’ of some kind when it comes to personal development. This is not quite true. I am no different to you with my struggles and dealing with emotions just like everyone else. The only difference is, I may have been practicing slightly longer than you at mastering living in the now and creating my life to be balanced and harmonious.
The truth is, I’m just a normal girl with a passion for helping other people to reach their dreams. Hence me learning life coaching. Yes I have spent the best part of 10 years marketing, first in a job and now online- as an entrepreneur and so have lots of knowledge and experience in that area, but all I really want to do is help other people in some way or another. Which is why I’m combining the two and working on my new membership site.
But I have dark periods just like anyone. I have had many ‘tests’ in my life and I’m always being tested. My Nan seems to think that the more you are tested, the better person you become lol.
In the last month I have learned some very hard life lessons and it caused me to have some what of an emotional crisis. I began doubting myself, my abilities, my intentions and also the intentions and authenticity of others. It made me realize that you can do all the personal development in the world and still have issues emotionally. We are all human and no-one is perfect, least of all me..
During this emotional time, I had to step back and take a look at my life and where I am heading. I began to feel frustrated with things and took it out on people close to me. But I also learned that you have to just trust your intuition at all times and keep going. Persistence is key.
After speaking to coaching client and good friend Wayne this evening, he mentioned a video he had seen on Will Smith recently. He said that Will was saying:
“Anyone can get on the treadmill with me and run but no-one will out-run me”.
I love this.
We all have problems, we all have to deal with emotions and it is so easy to become a master at negative thoughts and patterns. The problem is, once you master the bad things it is a harder journey to learn the new, more positive behaviours and make them a habit.
Create your own life, and don’t let anyone stop you. Master patience and perseverence through small DAILY PRACTICE and when you crash (and you will) and feel that the world is caving in again, just watch this video below from Will and start over.
Have a beautiful day,
Carly Taylor x
